European Gymnastics 31st Congress

On 29 November 2025, the 50 member Federations of European Gymnastics will have the opportunity to elect the new European Gymnastics authorities at the 31st Congress in Prague (CZE).

The Swedish candidates are:

  • Per Sjöstrand, Executive Committee
  • Emil Deckner, TeamGym TC
  • Jenny Söderlund, Trampoline TC
  • Ahmed Adly, Men’s artistic gymnastics TC

Per Sjöstrand

Per Sjöstrand,

Candidate for the Executive Committee

Per Sjöstrand brings extensive leadership experience from over a decade as President of the TeamGym Technical Committee (2014–2025) and as Vice President of the Swedish Gymnastics Federation. With a strong background spanning both grassroots and elite development, he has demonstrated a longstanding commitment to the growth of gymnastics across Europe.

Motivators:

  • Strives to modernize and strengthen the governance of European Gymnastics, ensuring it continues to meet the evolving needs of its member
    federations and stakeholders.
  • Seeks to enhance events by refining formats, co-locating disciplines, and increasing their appeal for media and sponsors.
  • Promotes collaboration across all disciplines to foster innovation and unity.
  • Committed to strengthening the visibility of all European Gymnastics disciplines, including advancing TeamGym toward future international recognition.

  • Over 20 years of leadership experience in gymnastics and the aerospace industry.
  • Deep understanding of governance, strategy, and technical development.

Jenny Söderlund

Jenny Söderlund,

Candidate for the Trampoline TC

Jenny is a highly experienced international judge and coach with a longstanding commitment to trampoline gymnastics. She has served as a member of the European TRA Technical Committee (2023–2025) and has been active in developing the sport both nationally and internationally.

Motivators:

  • Wants to continue contributing to the growth of trampoline gymnastics in Europe.
  • Aims to expand participation in DMT and Tumbling across more countries.
  • Committed to transparency, democracy, and collaboration.
  • Brings top-level experience as both judge and coach.
  • Focused on long-term, positive development of the sport.

Merits:

  • International judge since 2001 (TRA Cat 1, DMT Cat 4, TUM Cat 4).
  • Judged at 1 Olympic Games, 6 World Championships, and 6 European Championships.
  • FIG Academy Level 3 coach since 2015.
  • Held several key roles in the Swedish Gymnastics Federation since 2004, including Chair of the Trampoline Committee and national team head coach (2014–2020).
  • Known for fairness, leadership, and dedication to athlete wellbeing.

Emil Deckner

Emil Deckner,

Candidate for the TeamGym TC

Emil brings over a decade of experience in developing TeamGym in Sweden through coaching, judging, and leading the development of national rules. He is holding the European Gymnastics TeamGym brevet CAT1 and has been instrumental in shaping
Sweden’s national Code of Points and judges education.

  • Aims to contribute to a clear and fair Code of Points based on practical experience.
  • Committed to safe and fair competition environments.

  • Believes that gymnast wellbeing is fundamental for long-term engagement and for spreading gymnastics in a world increasingly focused on physical and mental health.

  • Over 10 years of experience in national TeamGym development.
  • Expertise in rule creation, judge training, and competition structure.
  • Strong advocate for cross-border collaboration, education, and coach exchanges.
  • Known for combining elite development with broad participation opportunities.

Ahmed Adly

Ahmed Adly, Candidate for the Men’s artistic gymnastics TC

Ahmed is an experienced international judge (Brevet Cycle 12), coach and educator with a strong background in supporting both elite and grassroot gymnastics. He has worked extensively with small federations and is committed to fairness, athlete wellbeing, and inclusive development.

  • Passionate about giving back to the sport that shaped his life.
  • Advocates for clear, consistent rules and fair judging.
  • Aims to amplify the voice of smaller nations.
  • Believes in collaboration and transparency to move the sport forward.

  • Master’s degree in Sports Science and Biomechanics.
  • FIG Coaching Brevet holder.
  • Fluent in Swedish, English, and Arabic.
  • Known for fairness, professionalism, and a strong international network.
